Clive Page, OBE, PhD, FSoB, FBPhS

Professor Clive Page is a distinguished pharmacologist at King’s College London, currently serving as Professor of Pharmacology and Director of the Sackler Institute of Pulmonary Pharmacology. With a prolific academic output of over 250 peer-reviewed publications, he is widely recognized for his pioneering research into the pharmacology of inflammation and respiratory diseases.

Clive co-founded and previously chaired the board of Verona Pharma plc, a publicly listed company recently acquired by Merck, focused on developing novel treatments for respiratory diseases. He currently contributes as a non-executive director and trustee to several prominent biotech and research institutions including PreP Biopharma, Helperby Therapeutics, Babraham Biotechnology Ltd, Babraham Institute, and the Fraunhofer Institute of Toxicology and Experimental Medicine in Hannover.

He began his career in industry at Sandoz Ltd in Basel and continues to consult broadly for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Clive’s leadership extends beyond the lab - he has actively shaped scientific policy and ethical debate, serving as a former Chairman of the Animal Science Group of the Society of Biology and advocating in the public domain on the use of animals in research.

His scientific and societal impact has been acknowledged through numerous awards: the Society of Biology’s President’s Medal in 2012 for outstanding life sciences contributions, and an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in 2017 for services to pharmacology. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and an Honorary Fellow and President‑elect of the British Pharmacological Society.
