MeiLan K. Han is Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care at the University of Michigan Health. A global leader in COPD, she serves on the GOLD Science Committee and is a national spokesperson for the American Lung Association. Her research centers on airway imaging and early COPD, and she leads multiple NIH-funded programs characterizing disease progression and phenotypes. Professor Han has extensive experience designing and running proof-of-concept and early-stage studies and frequently advises therapeutic and device companies on COPD drug development and trial design.
Beyond her academic and advisory work, Professor Han is the author of Breathing Lessons: A Doctor’s Guide to Lung Health and serves on boards/committees across leading respiratory organizations, helping translate science into improved care and clinical endpoints for obstructive lung disease.
